He said,
“the day will fool you through the glass”.
I’m sure I looked confused,
as I tilted my head to one side and asked,
“what do you mean”?
He then began to clarify his statement by
explaining how when we look out the window,
we see the sun shining,
the green grass,
tulips blooming,
and a periwinkle sky filled with
puffy cotton clouds;
a picture of a warm spring day.
But when we step into it,
we’re hit with
an unexpected chill that seems to
touch our bones
and we are left perplexed.
How could this be?
Fooled by appearances,
once more.
